I am a proud United States Navy Veteran, wife to my husband and best friend, Steven, and twin mama to the best daughters on this side of the Rio Grande  — Hazelnut and Sadiebug.

By day, I am a full-time project manager in northern New Mexico. By night, I am a modern homesteader, growing and cooking food from scratch and preserving the harvest for my family, friends, and local community!

If you know me, you know that I’ve been talking about blogging for years! When my daughters were born, and the dream of homesteading first came to my heart, I dreamed of documenting the journey so my friends and family could follow along!

And now, after years of dreaming about it, I’m finally ready to document and share with the primary hope of teaching, inspiring, and encouraging you along the way!

To me, a cozy, welcoming home is everything, and now that I live in New Mexico, the Southwest has seeped deep into my soul! On the blog, I will share some of my favorite Southwest-inspired home decor finds with you!

There’s nothing like food that sticks to your bones and warms your belly!

As a trained pastry artist, proclaimed foodie, and cookbook collector (it’s a literal problem, ya’ll), I will share fresh, seasonal recipes that center the food we grow here on our homestead that both you and your family will enjoy!

High Desert Gardening:

As someone who grew up in the desert, I knew we had to return when my husband and I left the military! Many people don't know this, but YES! Growing a garden in a dry, arid climate is possible, and I will show you how!
I will share the tips and tricks that I’m learning as a Master Gardener intern to help you have a successful kitchen garden in the high desert!
